C.J. Schmidt III began his practice with Wood & Lamping in 1989. He was formerly Labor Law Counsel for the U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington, D.C. While in Washington he earned a Masters of Labor Law Degree from Georgetown University.

His area of practice is primarily in general corporate litigation. In addition to general corporate litigation he has extensive experience in employment, labor and employee benefit plan law fields. He has handled litigation matters in federal and state courts as well as before numerous administrative bodies. Those administrative bodies have included the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Ohio Civil Rights Commission and the National Labor Relations Board.

Mr. Schmidt currently serves as the firm's Managing Partner.
