Lisa deHart Lehner practices primarily in the firm’s Business Law, Trusts, Estates and Wealth Transfer and Real Estate practice groups. Her practice also includes representation of political subdivisions and governmental agencies such as counties and school districts. Lisa’s practice respects the connectedness of business law and estate planning law.
Lisa counsels businesses, business owners and individuals in Ohio and in Indiana in matters such as corporate governance, shareholder transactions, contract negotiation and preparation, immigration law, securities law, mergers and acquisitions, business litigation, employment issues and international business transactions. She represents start-up businesses and small and medium-sized privately-held businesses along with non-profit corporations. She works with many types of businesses including real estate developers, professional service companies, manufacturing companies, information technology companies, distributors, franchisors/franchisees and marketing firms.
Lisa’s business practice generates a substantial amount of estate planning and business succession planning needs. Consequently, Lisa advises clients in creating estate plans and business succession plans for clients utilizing various types of trusts, gifting strategies and charitable donations.
Lisa assists business clients by also practicing real estate law, including, commercial transactions, real estate litigation, easement acquisition, real estate transactions, zoning and subdivision matters, negotiations and document preparation of lease and/or purchase agreements, real property tax law, tax abatement law, wastewater law and various aspects of municipal law.
Lisa is engaged in the community. In 2003 she was selected as a recipient of the Tristate’s “Forty under 40” Award for her professional and civic accomplishments. In 2006, she was selected for Leadership Cincinnati, Class XXX, based upon her community involvement and leadership. In 2005 and 2006, Lisa was selected for recognition in the Super Lawyers® Ohio Rising Stars list for her practice in the area of Business Law. She served as County Attorney for Dearborn County, Indiana for many years.
Lisa serves on the board of directors of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Cincinnati Pops.
Lisa has written multiple articles for various newspapers and publications, and has made presentations in the areas of estate planning and business law to various organizations in the tri-state area. She also serves as an officer of the Lotspeich Parent Association of the Seven Hills School.
Lisa resides in Mount Lookout with her husband, Kermit Lovelace, and her daughter, Claire.
