Commercial Finance and Contract Law

Commercial Finance and Contracts Law involves supporting individuals, businesses, lending institutions, municipalities, and certified development companies in a broad range of legal challenges including acquisitions, sales, real estate refinancing, working capital loans, equipment leases, or complex tax increment financing projects.

Our Commercial Finance Practice Area frequently works with national and regional lenders to negotiate and document commercial and real estate loans. And our lending experience extends beyond the conventional finance transaction to include additional loan programs such as the State of Ohio 166 Loan Program, United States Small Business Administration 7A Guaranteed Loan Program, and the United States Small Business Administration 504 Loan Program. Our attorneys have participated in thousands of United States Small Business Administration (SBA) transactions, providing W+L clients extensive SBA-lending experience.

Experience

  • Negotiated commercial loan documents, the creation of appropriate borrowing entities, as well as their expertise in closing transactions
  • Provided our financial institution clients with an outstanding level of service and quality while prioritizing efficiency and cost
  • Coordinated with related practice areas such as Intellectual Property and Municipal law to “get the deal done” in a timely and, most importantly, accurate fashion
