Jeffrey D. Forbes is a member of the Firm's Government and Land Use Practice Group. He joined Wood & Lamping LLP as an associate in 2001 after working as a law clerk while still attending law school.
In addition to his work in the land use and zoning law field, Jeff has also become well versed in the complex legal issues associated with cities, villages, and townships while serving as an assistant law director for a number of the Firm's local government clients. He currently is a member of the City of Montgomery Planning Commission.
Additionally, Jeff is member of the firm’s Eminent Domain team and is a frequent speaker on the topic. He has initiated and resolved a number of eminent domain cases on behalf of the firm’s local government clients ranging from road widening projects and sidewalk installations to urban renewal and revitalization projects. Most recently Jeff assisted in the successful representation of a number of property owners in an eminent domain case initiated by the City of Norwood which was ultimately decided in favor of the property owners by the Ohio Supreme Court in the case of Norwood v. Horney.
Mr. Forbes is active in the Cincinnati Bar Association Local Government Law Committee, serving a term as Chairman beginning in 2006. Additionally Jeff was named as one of Ohio’s Super Lawyer Rising Stars in 2007 by the publishers of Law & Politics magazine.
