We interview at many law schools every year for open positions. However, we also encourage students from schools where we do not interview, as well as laterals, to submit their resumes directly to us. In selecting attorneys and summer associates, we consider, among other factors, the candidate's undergraduate record, law school record, undergraduate and law school activities, communication skills, previous employment experience and genuine interest in our firm and our community.

Resumes of highly qualified second year law students are solicited. Interested students are encouraged to contact our Human Resources Manager. Two or three second year students are hired for each summer. Their work is challenging and varied. Opportunity is provided to work with most partners and associates in the firm and to experience, for a few weeks, the intense pride of working as a team member in one or more of the firm's practice areas. Participation in the social activities of the firm is also encouraged. This interaction facilitates the mutual understanding and evaluation that often leads to an offer and acceptance of a position as an associate with Wood & Lamping.

Resumes from third year law students are also invited. We are especially interested in students who have concluded that a small to midsize firm in Cincinnati will offer the opportunities, flexibility, and challenges in tune with their own goals and objectives.
