C.J. Schmidt III began his practice with Wood & Lamping in 1989. He was formerly Labor Law Counsel for the U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington, D.C. While in Washington he earned a Masters of Labor Law Degree from Georgetown University.

His area of practice is primarily in litigation with emphasis in employment, labor and employee benefit plan law fields.  He has handled litigation matters in federal and state courts as well as before numerous administrative bodies.  Those administrative bodies have included the Equal Employment Opportunity Commissioner, Ohio Civil Rights Commission, the National Labor Relation Board, and the State Employment Relations Board. 

Mr. Schmidt currently serves the firm's Managing Partner in addition to serving as the Practice Group Leader for the Labor and Employment Practice Group of the Firm.
